A helper, not a counsellor

I'm Eugenio, an accredited Enneagram practitioner. I sit down with individuals and couples to help them understand themselves and each other, using the Enneagram, a framework for what genuinely motivates people beneath their behaviour.

I call myself a helper because it's the honest word. What I bring is careful listening, a framework that makes patterns visible, and a clear sense of where this work stops. Before this I spent years in industry and ran my own company, which taught me how often good people end up at cross purposes for reasons none of them can name.

How I work

Understanding first, theory second

As an accredited Enneagram practitioner, I could happily talk about the model all day. But that is not what helps. What helps is using the Enneagram to make something practical clear: why you, or someone close to you, acts the way you do, what you need under pressure, where your natural strengths and blind spots lie.

So I keep the theory in the background and the people in the foreground. Sessions are warm, grounded and free of jargon. Nobody gets reduced to a number, and nobody leaves without something they can actually use.

Respect

People identify their own type. I create the conditions for recognition, never label anyone from the outside.

Clarity

Plain language, real examples, and a clear outcome. Insight that stays useful long after the session.

Care

Sessions are safe and unforced. The aim is understanding that brings people closer, not exposure.

Background

What grounds the work

I'm accredited in the Enneagram (Levels 1 & 2) and trained in Ontological Coaching, which looks at how language, mood and body shape the way we see things.I also volunteer as a listener with Samaritans, which has taught me more than any course about sitting with people and simply hearing them.

I'm training as a counsellor too, having completed the CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and now studying at Level 3, and I work within the BACP ethical framework. That training keeps me clear about the difference between helping someone understand themselves and treating them.

How I work, and what this isn't

Practical, not clinical

Ethics matter a great deal to me. Enneagram sessions, whether for individuals or couples, are coaching-style, Enneagram-based work. They are not counselling, psychotherapy, or any form of mental health treatment, and shouldn't be relied upon as a substitute for these. If, in the course of our work together, it becomes clear that you'd benefit from counselling, therapy, or other professional support, I'll say so, and where appropriate, help you find it.

Where I practice

Based in the Blackdown Hills of Somerset

Sessions take place from my home practice in the picturesque hamlet of Otterford, tucked into the Blackdown Hills. It's a quiet, easy-to-find setting away from the everyday, well suited to the kind of unhurried conversation this work needs.
